Emergency Roof Tarping in the Florida Panhandle
A damaged roof can allow more water inside after hurricane winds subside. If you have an active roof opening or leak, ask JA Edwards whether emergency roof covering is available in your area. Temporary tarping is offered only when the crew, materials and conditions allow it.
Inspections and temporary services depend on safety, access and crew availability. See JA Edwards roofing projects and customer experiences.

What we can check after the hurricane
We assess actual roof conditions and explain available options. No blanket promises that every storm-damaged roof requires replacement.
Active Leak Assessment
Assess visible water entry, where it is safe to do so, and discuss practical temporary protection.
Temporary Roof Covering
Ask about tarping or emergency covering if the response crew has materials and safe access.
Shingle and Flashing Damage
Identify displaced shingles, damaged flashing or other visible openings that may need attention.
Document Existing Damage
Record observed roof conditions with photos before proposing a service scope.
Permanent Roof Repair
Discuss appropriate repair options once conditions, materials and the remaining roof are evaluated.
Roof Replacement Assessment
For severe or widespread conditions, evaluate whether a more extensive roofing solution is warranted.
Tarping buys time. It does not fix the roof.
A professionally installed temporary covering may help reduce additional water intrusion through a damaged area. The scope depends on roof pitch, height, remaining materials, the size of the opening and safe access. We explain what temporary work is appropriate and how permanent repairs differ.
- Photos and documentation of observed roof conditions.
- Plain-language explanation of the next step.
- Written, itemized estimates for proposed roofing work.
- No pressure to sign before understanding the scope.

Answers before you make a decision.
What to expect from a Florida-licensed roofing team and how to stay safe after the storm.
Will a roof tarp stop every leak?
No. Tarping is a temporary measure and effectiveness depends on the roof condition, weather, coverage and installation. It is not a guarantee of a watertight roof.
Do you offer tarping during the hurricane?
No. Roof access in active severe weather is dangerous. Work depends on the all-clear, road access, crew availability and an onsite safety assessment.
Is temporary tarping included in a roof inspection?
Tarping, if available, is a separate service with scope and pricing discussed before work. We do not advertise emergency pricing or guarantee availability.
Will JA Edwards tell me if insurance covers my roof?
We can document roof conditions and provide a written scope or estimate. Your insurance company determines policy coverage and claim decisions. We do not adjust claims or promise an insurance payout.
Can I inspect my roof while the hurricane is still nearby?
No. Stay off your roof during severe weather, and keep away from standing water, damaged power lines and unstable structures. Follow local emergency instructions. Contact us when conditions are safe.
Do you provide an estimate in writing?
Yes. After an inspection and review of the proposed work, we can provide a written, itemized estimate appropriate to the project.
Are you based in this city?
Yes. Our Pensacola office is located at 545 Brent Lane, Pensacola, FL 32503. Call (850) 741-7564 to speak with our team. We also have established Florida offices in Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville and Port St. Lucie. Please call before visiting; crew availability and service areas may vary.
Emergency conditions change quickly. Official evacuation, safety and weather information always takes priority over a roofing service page.
